Welcome to the Housing Options Service

The Housing Options Service is a statutory service that is governed by the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Using the above statutory provisions we aim to support you, in using the tools available, to address your housing situation either through our self-serve housing wizard or through direct contact with the team.

We want to maximise your housing opportunities but also balance these against the background of a very difficult housing market.

On the following page you will be asked to register your details and circumstances within the housing wizard.  The answers you provide help to give you a Personalised Housing Plan (known as a PHP) and provide you with lots of information, relevant to your circumstances to enable you to identify possible solutions, in a timely manner.  The more proactive you can be in actioning the points raised in your PHP the greater the possibility may be of  you securing your preferred housing solution without the intervention of an officer.

If however the solutions offered in your PHP do not resolve your housing difficulties or having exhausted these you have not managed to sucessfully secure accommodation please make contact with the service either by telephone 01636 650000 or via email: housingoptions2@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk

Before you proceed to contacting Housing Options, please click on the link below to confirm that you agree to the Housing Options Service making further enquiries on your pending application. This is known as 'Authority to Disclose'
